These awards celebrate excellence and innovation in angel investing, honoring exceptional individuals and companies that drive entrepreneurial success and innovation. Nominations are due January 31, 2025.
Luis Villalobos Award: Recognizing Ingenuity and Innovation
The Luis Villalobos Award celebrates the most ingenious and innovative idea recently financed by ACA members. Named after Luis Villalobos, founder of TCA Venture Group (formerly the Tech Coast Angels), this award honors his legacy of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Each year, two category winners are chosen to attend the ACA Summit, where they are recognized as leaders in innovation. The award is presented to the CEOs of the winning companies during the ACA’s annual awards ceremony.
Luis Villalobos was a trailblazer in the angel investing community, making nearly 60 personal investments and mentoring countless entrepreneurs. His dedication to innovation continues to inspire angel investors and entrepreneurs alike.

Hans Severiens Award: Honoring Those Who Have Advanced the Field of Angel Investing
The Hans Severiens Award recognizes individuals whose contributions have significantly advanced the field of angel investing. Named after Hans Severiens, founder of the Band of Angels, this award highlights the broad and lasting impact of angel investing across industries and communities.
Nominees should demonstrate:

- Contributions to the knowledge base of angel investing.
